Electricity futures

What the market charges today for power delivered later — month, quarter and year, per price area and for the Nordic system price. A futures price is a bare power price for a flat delivery around the clock: the markup, the electricity tax, VAT and the grid fee come on top, and a household's consumption looks nothing like a flat delivery.

  • Exchange rate 10.3775 NOK/EUR, the ECB reference rate of 2 Nov 2026. øre/kWh = EUR/MWh × rate ÷ 10.
  • Stored history since 14 Aug 2026.
  • Monthly spot outcome: hvakosterstrommen.no, mean of the daily average prices, excl. VAT.
  • Spot outcomes are converted to EUR/MWh with that same day's rate, not with the rate that applied during the month they were delivered.
  • VAT: 25% in NO1, NO2, NO3 and NO5; NO4 is shown without VAT, because households in Nordland, Troms and Finnmark pay no VAT on electricity. The system price is shown with 25%.
