Spot price: the day-ahead price per price area, daily averages in øre/kWh excl. VAT. VAT (25%, none in Nordland, Troms and Finnmark) and strømstøtte (the electricity subsidy) are not applied. NO4 is a price area, not the VAT-exempt counties. The supplier's markup, the electricity tax and the grid fee come on top.

Fixed price

Lowest estimated total price and the median per price area on 18 October, compared with 11 October. Øre/kWh incl. VAT (NO4 without VAT) at 14,400 kWh/yr, contract price only.

Fixed price: estimated total price from Forbrukerrådet's price portal, øre/kWh incl. VAT (NO4 without VAT) at 14,400 kWh/yr, energy price and fixed fee included. Contract price only: grid fee, electricity tax and strømstøtte are not included. Contracts sold nationwide count in every price area. The week before is shown only when the number of contracts is comparable (the smaller is at least half the larger).

The lowest price can be a campaign offer, apply to new customers or members only, or be a loss-leader offer. That is why the median stands beside it. The contracts and their terms are on the page for each price area: NO1, NO2, NO3, NO4, NO5.

Price changes

No price changes were recorded during the week.

A price change is a contract whose estimated total price at 14,400 kWh/yr moved by at least 0.5% and 0.1 øre/kWh between two collections. The same change in several price areas counts once. The date is the day the change was found. Spot contracts follow the spot price and are not counted. Contracts sold nationwide are shown with the NO1 figures (25% VAT).

Futures

EEX settlement price for the nearest quarter and the nearest year, øre/kWh excl. VAT: the last trading day up to 16 October, compared with the last trading day up to 9 October.

* Calculated mark: the contract has no open positions, so the settlement price is EEX's calculated mark, not a price anyone has traded at. Open positions are today's figure, not the week's.

Futures: EEX's baseload settlement price on the last trading day of each week. Converted from EUR/MWh at 10.3775 NOK/EUR, the ECB reference rate of 2 November 2026, for every week.

A baseload future covers an even delivery around the clock for the whole period. It is not a consumer price: the markup, the electricity tax, VAT and the grid fee come on top, and a household's consumption profile gives a different price.
